APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Complete the formal DFCS Title IV-E Application online:
Be sure to read the application instructions carefully. Incomplete DFCS applications will not be considered.
2. Complete GSU Pre-Screening Application
This is required. Once the formal DFCS application is reviewed, applicants will be emailed a link to the online Title IV-E Pre-screening Application. All GSU applicants must complete the Pre-Screen Application to move forward in the application process.
3. Upload the following documents to the pre-screen application:
- Letter of Acceptance into the School of Social Work
- A formal cover letter outlining why they are interested in the program and how they are a good fit for public child welfare. Current DFCS employees (S.E.E.D. Applicants) should indicate how the program will enhance their practice
- A current resume
4. Complete a Formal Interview
The top applicants will be invited to interview with GSU Faculty and DFCS Training Specialists. Students must complete a writing sample and an “In-Box Scenario” during the interview process.
If selected, Title IV-E grant recipients are required to attend a mandatory orientation in order to:

Review the policies and procedures related to the program

Sign the Student Agreement (the contract between the student and DFCS)

Get LiveScan fingerprinted

Complete all releases of information
